NIIT Lab@Home 13 EBDD

1. StarLent is a logistics company with its head office in Toronto. The company's employees use various LOB applications to perform their daily tasks. In addition, some of the users are mobile and often work from remote locations. Therefore, they need to access the required LOB applications by using the Internet. However, the applications cannot be run inside a Web browser. Therefore, John, who works as a system administrator in the company, has been assigned the task of implementing a solution that will enable the employees to easily access the LOB applications from the Internet. Help John accomplish the desired task.

To accomplish the desired task, you need to implement an RDS infrastructure and configure
RemoteApp publishing. For this, you need to perform the following tasks:
1. Install AD CS.
2. Configure AD CS.
3. Install RDS.
4. Configure RemoteApp publishing.
5. Access RemoteApps.

Task 1. Installing AD DS
1. Ensure that server Manager window is open and active.
2. click the Add roles and features link in the right pane. the Before you begin page of Add Roles and Features
wizard is diplayed.
3. click the Next button. the select installation type page is displayed.
4. click the next button. the select destination server page is displayed.
5. click the next button. the select server roles page is displayed.
6. select the Active Directory certificate service check box.
7. click the Add Features button.
8. click the next button. the select features page is displayed.
9. click the next button. the Active Directory certificate services page is displayed.
10. click the next button. the select role services page is displayed.
11. Ensure that the Certification Authority check box is selected.
12. select the Certificeta Enrollment policy Web service check box. the Add Roles and Features Wizard dialog box is displayed.


Task 2. Configuring AD DS
1. Click the notifications icon in the server manager window.
2. click the configure Active Directory certificate services on the destination server link.
3. click the next button. the role services page is displayed.
4. select the certification authority and certification Authority web Enrollment check boxes.
5. click the next button. the setup type page is displayed.
6. click the next button. the CA type page is displayed.
7. Ensure that the Root Ca option is selected.
8. click the Next button. the Private key page is displayed.
9. ensure that the create a new private key option is selected.
10. click the next button. the cryptography for CA page is displayed.
11. click the next button. the CA name page is displayed.
12. change the value of common name for this CA text box to Adatum-CSA-CA.
13. click the next button. the Validity period page is displayed..
14. click the next button. the CA Database page is displayed.
15. click the next button. the Confimation page is displayed.


task 3. Installing RDS
1. Ensure that the server manager window is open and active.
2. click the Add roles and features link in the Right pane. the Before you begin page of add roles and features wizard is displayed.
3. click the next button. the select installation type page is displayed.
4. select the Remote desktop services installation option.
5. click the next button. the select deployment type page is displayed.
6. select the Quick start option.
7. click the next button. the select deployment scenario page is displayed.
8. select the session-based desktop deployment option.
9. click the next button. the select a server page is displayed.
10. click the next button. the After a few moments, the confirm selection page is displayed.
11. select the Restart the destination server automatically if required check box.
12. click the deploy button. the view progress page is displayed.
13. press the Ctrl+Alt+End keys, and then login as adatum\Administrator with the password as Pa$$w0rd.
14. click the close buuton when the installation is succeeded.

Task 4. Conguring RemoteApp Publishing.
1. select the remote desktop services node in the pane. the Overview page is displayed.
2. select the QuickSessionCollection node in the left pane.
3. select TASKS-Publish RemoteApp programs under the REMOTEAPP PROGRAMS section in the middle pane.
4. Scroll down and select the microfoft Word 2010 check box.
5. click the next button. the comfirmation page is displayed.
6. click the publish button. the completion page is displayed.
7. click the clise button.


Task 5.  Accessing RemoteApps

1. click the desktop tile.
2. click the Internet Explorer icon in the taskbar. the Internet Explorer window is displayed.
3. type https://172.16.16.11/RDWeb in the address bar, and then press the Enter key. the there is a proble with this welsite's security certificate page is displayed.
4. click the continue to this website (not recommended) link. the work resources page is displayed.
5. type Pa$$w0rd in the password text box, and then press the enter key. the RemoteApps are displayed..
6. click the connect button. the windows security dialog box is displayed.
7. type Pa$$w0rd in the password text box, and then press box is displayed.
8. click the ok button. the Document1 microsoft word window is displayed along with welcome to microsoft office 2010 dialog box.
9. select the use Recommended setting option.
10. close the Document microsoft work window.
11. sign out revert all the vitual machines.
